2008-11-29 [Alexi Ice]: Comments?

2008-11-29 [Artsieladie]: These aren't bad for a camera phone. Some are a bit dark, but I'm blind as a bat anyway. Some pretty good shots of dogs' feet. I always love 'pet pic's'. Do you have a weet-weet (guinea pig)? :D

2008-11-29 [Alexi Ice]: Yes I do, we call him pig pig. I also have a bird, but she just laid eggs so I can't take pics of her feet right now. I will have more soon, the dogs are hard to catch when they get excited.

2008-11-29 [Alexi Ice]: Most of the darkness was done on pourpose, to iscolate the specific limb. lol.

2008-11-29 [Hedda]: Caelie Mae is a dog, I see now... It looked like a kangaroo on <img100*0:img/photo/64936_1227922708.jpg>
<img:stuff/zabuN-gif.gif>

2008-11-29 [Hedda]: It's better if you upload the images with the "Upload a folder of images" button in your house. Then you can upload them without getting them so small.

2008-11-29 [Hedda]: This page isn't exported, which breaks the rules, by the way.

2008-11-29 [Alexi Ice]: LOL! She does kind of look like a kangaroo! That would have been awesome!
I couldn't find the stupid button...maybe I am just blind...

Ok, I exported them ^^ Thanks for the warning

2008-11-29 [Jitter]: Very nice but the blurry ones aren't suitable for reference :)

2008-11-29 [Alexi Ice]: The first one seems to be the worst, doesn't it?

2008-11-29 [Artsieladie]: Aw, guinea pigs are so sweet. :)

I have yet to use "Upload a folder of images". I'm afraid on dial-up I'd be sitting and waiting for the upload to complete into some time next week. lol I'm going to try someday when I'm at my friend, Ruth's house. I just uploaded 'an' image for a book cover I'm designing for Dina Champion 1800 x 2700. It took me almost 2 1/2 hours to finally get it uploaded to ET and then loaded on the page. Since I'm using Opera now for Elftown, a huge image actually does get fully loaded on a page now. :)

I must be really blind. I didn't even notice the page wasn't exported and I usually look at that and now it shows in bold red lettering! Eh, I was having too much fun playing with pages and numbers and ... hehe

2008-11-29 [Alexi Ice]: I tried to use it, but it didn't work for me...ugh..I really tried. Lol. Oh well, maybe Hedda will explain it to me when he gets online again.

LOL! You silly ^^ I am about to add more photos, if I can get Pig pig to cooperate (he is a tad mean...) and my brother isn't here to keep him entertained while I take pictures of him.

2008-11-29 [arthemis_]: Brilliant! *bows to you*

2008-11-29 [Artsieladie]: A tad mean? I've had many guinea pigs, but I never had one that was mean, even a little. O..O

Yah, I'm silly alright! How silly is this?... When I clicked on your page here under my comments, I was directed to (an empty page):
http://elftown.eu/wiki.html?name=mitsuki%E2%80%99s%20array%20of%20animal%20feetcth

This has been happening a lot lately! The odd thing? It's not happening to my daughter or my sister, just little ol' me. I took the 'scenic route' to get here. *giggles*

2008-11-29 [Alexi Ice]: Lol Well mine is...EVIL!

That is just annoying, even for me as a bystandard. Ugh.

2008-11-30 [Hedda]: [Alexi Ice]: "it didn't work" really doesn't help me to explain what you should do.

Just go to your house
Press the "Upload a folder of images" button.
Select a wiki-page name that isn't used.
Go to next page
Select the image files you want to upload.
Upload them, it takes quite a while.

2008-11-30 [Artsieladie]: Eh, maybe, but I know how to work around it, as you can see, because I is here again! lol That naughty gremlin messing with things again! hehe

2008-11-30 [Hedda]: Testing...

2008-11-30 [Hedda]: Everything seems to be working fine. I have no idea why [Artsieladie] gets the links to another wiki-page.

2008-11-30 [Alexi Ice]: ITs the upload the image files that you want to use that doesn't work for me [Hedda] sorry about not explaining that quite right...what did you change, anyway?

I dont know, it works fine for me as well so it is a bit odd...?

2008-11-30 [Hedda]: Gnnn! You can't write "doesn't work"! What do you do and what happens?

On this page, I didn't change anything. Just tested.

2008-11-30 [Alexi Ice]: Ok, I get passed steps

Just go to your house
Press the "Upload a folder of images" button.
Select a wiki-page name that isn't used.
Go to next page
Select the image files you want to upload.
Upload them, it takes quite a while.

Four, then I try and upload more than one file, and it doesnt even upload the one..I am not sure why, it is almost like my computer just ignores my request..I think I am doing something wrong. I click browse, open the folder in which the images are, click on one and hit download...then...nothing.

Oh, Okie dokie then

2008-11-30 [Hedda]: You can't select a folder. You have to select the single files.

Or make a ZIP-file of the entire folder and upload the ZIP-file.

2008-11-30 [Hedda]: Then you have to wait until the images are uploaded. It takes quite a while!

2008-12-01 [Artsieladie]: On a fast connection it takes awhile? Oh, boy! I know for sure not to even try it now. I'll just continue uploading the way I have been doing, except now you can upload to an empty page, preview it, copy and paste the image link where you want it like in my diary and then simply back out of the empty page. It saves on the number of page versions. I love the preview feature! :)

2008-12-01 [Alexi Ice]: *Warning; I'm about to sound dumb again*

What is a zipfile?

2008-12-01 [Hedda]: [Artsieladie]: It's not how you upload it, but what you upload. Of course huge image-files take longer to upload.

[Alexi Ice]: Read the text on <URI:upload_zip.html> and you'll see that there's a link there to How to create a zip-file.

You don't have to create a zip-file, but you can select the individual files too.

2008-12-01 [Artsieladie]: I know it's about the size of the file as to how long it takes to upload. I have my finished Pegasus to try and upload to Elftown, but it's HUGE! I want to get it uploaded now that I'm using Opera, because now I should actually be able to see it. With Firefox, huge images stop loading on the page and I have to hit the browser 'reload' button. Firefox would reload, but it would start all over from scratch and then stop again. Whereas, if I'm loading a large image on a page with Opera and it stops, I hit Opera's reload button and it picks up where it left off and not from scratch like Firefox does.

About the preview feature's role, before, if I had 20 images to get uploaded on a page, I would have to make 20 page versions to do it, if I wanted to be able to 'see' the images. Now I don't have to. I just upload a file, preview, copy/paste the image link in my diary usually (my work space), back out of the page and repeat. When I get all 20 images uploaded, then I can go ahead, make the actual page and add the images and... the end result being 1 or 2 page versions, instead of 20. Gees, it makes me think about the time I have spent uploading, considering I have uploaded over 9000 graphics alone for my graphics' section. It's a lot to fathom actually. O..O

2008-12-01 [Alexi Ice]: Alright cool, thanks.

2008-12-05 [Artsieladie]: Would someone please leave a comment on this page and on For The L♥ve Of A Community - Elftown!? Just a 'hi' or an emotion even. I want them to come up under my 'wiki-comments' slot, so I can see if they are working yet for me. This page came up under 'wiki-changes' and it does seem to work for 'wiki-changes' and for 'change and comments'. It just wasn't working when it came up under 'wiki-comments'. Thanks! :)

2008-12-05 [Hedda]: [Artsieladie]: It works now. No need to check it.

2008-12-05 [Artsieladie]: Yes, I see it does now for this page. I can't know this on my end if it's fixed or not though, unless someone leaves a comment. Thank you! :)

2008-12-05 [Alexi Ice]: Ok I left a comment.

2008-12-05 [Artsieladie]: ..And I'm here, no scenic route! hehe Thanks! :)

2008-12-05 [Alexi Ice]: Awesome!

2008-12-06 [arthemis_]: *steals Lune* She is sooo damn cute *sigh*

2008-12-07 [Alexi Ice]: Thank you, but he is a boy ^^ I found him when his family moved away down the street and abandoned him...poor thing was half starved

2008-12-07 [arthemis_]: Don't mind him being a boy... HE is still CUTE! Why give him a girl name though :P

2008-12-08 [Alexi Ice]: Well it came to me in a dream actually...his full name is De La Lune BloodStar...*Don't ask*...it was a green eyed vampire in my dream ... ^^

2008-12-09 [Artsieladie]: A green eyed vampire dream! Whoa! I dream about wolves sometimes. ;)

2008-12-09 [Alexi Ice]: I dream about vampires with green eyes..and one named Kyo with one red eye and one silver one...

2008-12-09 [Artsieladie]: Hmm... interesting. ;) I have never dreamed about vampires. :)

2008-12-09 [Alexi Ice]: I do all the time, probably because I am so interested in them

2008-12-09 [Artsieladie]: Maybe.. probably. If something or... someone is on our conscious mind a lot, then we will carry it or them into our subconscious. The same with our innermost desires and fantasies. For the most part, I like my dreams. They take me to a place where I wish I could really be. *wants to sleep now* ;)

2008-12-09 [Alexi Ice]: YEah I dont...my dreams are mostly nightmares, and I almost always die or get hurt...or drowning is a real reoccurence. It sucks. Unless Kyo appears in my dreams, they are almost always weird, insane, and painful...

2008-12-11 [Artsieladie]: I do have disturbing dreams, really weird ones, too, but I honestly have to say that I have more dreams that are pleasant than I do have of those that are not. I have also found with myself, that I can often pre-design my dreams, if I can focus my mind in the general direction I would like to drift off to. Some dreams I've had make me regret that I woke up, because they are simply that wonderful! <img:44166_1164903263.gif>

2008-12-11 [Alexi Ice]: That is awesome!!!

2008-12-11 [Artsieladie]: It is actually. :) Maybe you could try it sometime? You'd have nothing to lose, but a possible wonderful dream to gain. ;)

2008-12-12 [Alexi Ice]: I will definatly try and focus in the direction I want to dream.

2008-12-12 [Artsieladie]: If you try it, I'd be curious as to know how it works for you. :)

Opera has been pretty good with me in regards to not having to reload my ET pages. But... for some reason it keeps reloading 'this' page. Annoying. :P

2008-12-12 [Alexi Ice]: I will keep you informed. I want to dream about my green eyed vampire.

Maybe my page just doesn't like you? lol (KIDDING)

2008-12-12 [Artsieladie]: A green eyed vampire. Oooookay! *giggles* That wouldn't be the desire of my dreams. A green eyed vampire doesn't even come close. I dream of someone/thing that is much, much erm, what shall I say... more interesting? *naughty giggles* <img:stuff/sh-gif.gif>

2008-12-13 [Alexi Ice]: Well I think vampires are hot...I have always wished to become one, honestly. I absolutly love them!

2008-12-14 [Artsieladie]: hehe I have no desire to live forever or to have to feast on blood to live. *shudders* But... I wouldn't mind being a horse, though. Oh, much different scenario, eh? *snorts, tosses mane and whinnies* I'm weird! <..< O..O :P

2008-12-14 [Alexi Ice]: LOL. I enjoy the spending eternity with the moon part very fascinating

2008-12-14 [Artsieladie]: Really? I think it's fascinating that you find vampires and the moon fascinating. Shhhh....Secretly, I'm a brain peeker-into-er, even a brain picker! Sometimes I even become a brain snatcher! Eh-um... *regains composure and tries to look 'normal'* lol

2008-12-17 [Alexi Ice]: Pick away! I don't think my Vamp obsession is very personal but before you get the wrong idea I am SO not a weird Twilight fangirl. I loved vampires LONG before that whole epidemic struck the world and now real Vampire fans just seem like stupid fanatics of a ficitional book full of ficitonal characters. Ugh. That really grates on my nerves. lol.

2008-12-17 [Artsieladie]: Well, no worries there, my dear, because I don't know 'anything' about Twilight Fangirl. My knowledge surrounding vampires stems from older and original stuff. -sigh- I'm just a boring person when it comes to all of this focus on movies and computer games, their characters and so forth. I guess this is why I prefer artists creating 'original' art as opposed to creating art from others' creativity. This is just one of the reasons that I don't really fit in around here and why my art is so frowned upon around here by many, but not all, because my creations are more from an original standpoint, either from my own imagination or from inspiration or both. You won't see WOW in my art nor FF, for 2 examples. I'm also a realistic artist that much prefers animals and nature to humans, because far too many humans have trampled all over my kind and generous spirit, at times making me into a person I don't even like.

I love extremely deeply and this is why it very dangerous for me to ever fall in love with anyone, because it has been my experience (not saying all males are this way) that the males that have entered my life just want to play mind and head games and take GREAT pleasure in hurting me. The harder and deeper they can thrust that knife through my heart and twist it, the happier they seem to be!

Sorry! I guess you can likely tell that I'm agitated. There's one man that I'd like to personally deliver to the middle of the ocean right now and drop him off as sharkbait! But... that's 'this' moment. Give me a few additional moments and I'll want to do the very opposite, whatevah that may be. Why do men always have to be such immature, cowardly 'little boys' that seem to get quite mixed up as to just which head they should be using to think with!?! Sorry, again, but it's true. That big, round/oval thing that sits atop their shoulders only seems to be there for some sort of decoration! For Christmas, maybe they should just hang a wreath on it or something. Grrrrrrrrrrr I'm shutting up now. :P *zips*

2008-12-18 [Alexi Ice]: Woot! Now I can be a brain picker, I just leared alot about you Artsie and you have learned little more than one of my darker obsessions!

2008-12-18 [Alexi Ice]: Men are stupid and for the most part immature but eventually everyone finds one that clicks...or they turn to the same sex, whatever works best. Just keep thinking positive and I am sure one day you will find someone who clicks, who loves you and doesn't hurt you. Someone who is good for you.

2008-12-18 [Artsieladie]: hehe Bbbut... I don't think there's much in there to pick! Slim pickin's you might say? <..< O..O :P

It's not that this one is stupid, far from it, but it is a man-creature! lol Hmm... maybe this type of creature should be included in the Elftown Creature Marathon!? It's not that I dislike men, really, because if they weren't man creatures, well then we wouldn't be attracted. It's kinda' like the very same thing that attracts us, is also the very same thing that can irritate us, 'oxymoronish' it seems. Some of my best friends are men in real life. It's just that when one aggravates me, I want to ship 'em all to the moon! They aggravate me, because they are supposed to be 'men', not creatures that hide in the shadows somewhere peeking out from their little shadowy corner. Very few men have the capacity to even get my attention, so when one does and then acts like a freaking mouse, it's just so damn frustrating. They want to play head games, like reel you in, once he has you in, shit on you, I get pissed off, tell him to get lost, ignore him and then... the game starts all over again, reel me in, yada-yada-yada. It's some sort of control thing. Then when you finally have enough of his game playing and tell him to go f*** himself, well, then you're the bitch.

I don't believe in controlling another person, especially someone I deeply care about. I always say a back door should always remain open. This way they are never trapped and at any time they are free to be on their merry way, because I would never want a man to stay in my life out of some sense of obligation and most definitely not by emotional blackmail. He is either in my life because he wants to be or he is not. So many women think they have to hold onto their men, put that collar and leash around their neck and some have to keep that leash good and short. Why? I see no reason to.

Maybe it's because I detest limitations and restrictions. ...And because I do, why would I want to place these very same on someone I claim to love? There's an old saying, set someone free. If they return to you, then it was meant to be. If they do not, it never was. I also swear that I am part horse, that wild and free spirit part. It's one of the things I look for in a man, actually, because with such, he is not afraid to push the limits or he's not afraid to step outside the box. A man that will step outside the box is interesting, usually challenging, and I do like a good challenge, no matter how irritated I may get, as long as I know WITHOUT DOUBT that he loves me, I can handle most anything. But if I have doubts as to his true feelings or intentions, then I'll start putting limitations on just how far I will go for him and when I have to place limits on my feelings, my passion and whatever else, I become a very unhappy person. :P hehe Babble! Babble!

2009-01-12 [Nomak]: "2008-12-18 [Alexi Ice]: Men are stupid and for the most part immature..." Genious comment.

2009-01-12 [Alexi Ice]: Thank you [Nomak] though I am fairly sure your own comment is sarcastic...lol. Either way, whatever.

And Artsie - I don't mind the bable if it helps you to feel better ^^ Talking about problems usually help.

2009-01-12 [Artsieladie]: Well, I may babble-babble, but all I am doing is talking and you can't get to know other people if you don't talk to them. Conversation is communication. Communication is a prelude to forming any type of relationship, whether friendship or more intimate. How can one make friends, if one doesn't talk? How can you get to know someone, if you don't talk to them? When I try to talk to someone and they just clam up, then they can't fault me for coming to the wrong conclusion in regards to them, especially when I've done all I know to do to open the door of communication. You can lead a horse to the water, but you can't make it drink. I'm not a judgemental type of person, so it's not like they have to think 10 times before they speak with me, either. Besides, I do my own fair share of stupid stuff and I would hope they would be as understanding with me, as I would be with them. :P

2009-01-12 [Alexi Ice]: Very true! ^^ I love chatting.

2009-01-13 [Artsieladie]: Yeah, I do. Speaking of chatting, I hear your howling on the IM, but then, poof, you're gone again. ;)

2009-01-14 [Alexi Ice]: Oh yeah, I only check it for a sec to talk to my councler ^^ I'm on Meebo all the time though, you should add me...my username is

Mitsuki_the_wolf_girl

What a shocker , right?

2009-01-14 [Artsieladie]: Meebo? What's Meebo? :P

Yesh! A shocker, indeed! lol ;)

2009-01-14 [Alexi Ice]: It;s a chat site, you can add me from meebo on your AOL account, I get on there because my BF has yahoo and we can chat that way ^^

2009-01-14 [Artsieladie]: I'll try it. :) I also have Yahoo and Google Talk. :)

[Update:] I tried it with AOL and it says "Mitsuki_the_wolf_girl" is invalid. Fooey! :/

2009-01-15 [Alexi Ice]: That sucks, I shall try to add you then, it might be easier.

2009-01-15 [Nomak]: Mitsuki, the truth is 95% of animal protecction officers and animal handlers for the city are male.

2009-01-15 [Alexi Ice]: ^^ Don't worry about it, I wasn't being serious with all males but...the particular male Artsie and I are speaking of is kind of like that. Dont worry about it.

2009-01-15 [Nomak]: Well in most part this wiki caught my eye becuase I'm a volunteer recuiter for my city.

2009-01-15 [Artsieladie]: Oh, the male creature we are discussing is a unique and rare creature indeed! One could never find one quite like him, if they looked to the ends of the earth and back! *giggles as I'm trying to decide if this a good thing or not* *thinks some more* Hmm... still need more time on this one, because the jury is still out. lol I'm ebil, I tell ya! Ebil! <img:stuff/mood5-gif.gif>

I'm so bloody tired! I can't get much sleep, because it's so cold here and I'm afraid if I sleep too long, my water pipes will freeze. It's supposed to go down to around -10 to -12 F or -24 to -25 C tonight. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! I'm so cold. My hands are freezing. My feet are freezing. My ears and nose are cold. I don't like bone-chilling cold weather at all! Cold weather sucks! :/ <img:stuff/ice-gif.gif>

Interesting, [Nomak]. I've been involved with pet rescue for many years. :) <img:stuff/CatSatBlk_rightEmotion.png>

2009-01-15 [Alexi Ice]: Really??? Oh cool! I would LOVE to volentere but my shelter is a kill shelter and I don't condone that type of thing. It makes me so sad.

*Hands Artsie a warm blanket* There you go, that might help ^^

2009-01-16 [Artsieladie]: We have shelters that euthanize, too. This makes rescue groups even more important, because many rescue groups try to save the pets, especially on 'death row' (their time is up). This is one of the reasons why I advocate spaying and neutering. People need to realise that when they allow more to be continually brought into the world, many of these being brought in and many more that are already here without 'good' homes, are doomed as a result. There just aren't enough 'good' homes for all of the millions of pets in need. MILLIONS of innocent pets get destroyed across the US every single day! What people do not know, too, is that a pet that is spayed or neutered has a better chance at living longer, because they are less prone to diseases such as cancer. For example, cancer is more prevalent or likely in an unspayed female's reproductive organs and related organs, than in a female that has been spayed. :/

2009-01-16 [Alexi Ice]: I know, my cousin had puppys with her dog and couldn't sell them so I ended up taking them from her before she killed them because she didn't have the means to take care of them...it was so sad.

2009-01-16 [Artsieladie]: Yup! ...And her case is only one of the thousands and thousands just like it or very similar. Another problem is that too many people feel that animals are disposable, but if these same people could have witnessed what I have and so many other people that try to spare the lives of animals, they might not be so quick to think this way. :/

2009-01-16 [Alexi Ice]: I wonder how we can make a differnce? IS there an animal crulty awareness WIKI on ET?

2009-01-16 [Artsieladie]: There is. It's called Animal Cruelty. It hasn't been too active in awhile, though. :P

2009-01-16 [Alexi Ice]: Oh! Cool! I didn't know that!

2009-01-16 [Artsieladie]: I joined this wiki not too long after I became a member of ET. ;)

2009-01-16 [Alexi Ice]: I didn't even know it existed but I wrote my name down as a member a second ago ^^

2009-01-17 [Artsieladie]: Cool! :) I was always going to start a wiki about the rescuing of pets, because there are many people that have given pets that needed a good home, a home, but I just never did. :P

2009-01-17 [Alexi Ice]: Yeah I have saved two from the mouth of death, my shepard and the little corgy we have. That would be a neat idea.

2009-01-17 [Artsieladie]: Yeah, I thought so, too. People love to talk about their pets and I love to listen to the stories, but I especially love stories with happy endings. :D

Some jerk by me just left his pitbull outside in this weather (-11 degrees F) and the dog froze to death! So sad and tragic! Some people's ignorance, plain stupidity, lack of caring, etc., makes my blood boil. :,(

2009-01-17 [Alexi Ice]: ^^ I do love to talk about my pets! I love them so much!

He died! OMg the poor thing!! Tell me you turned him in, animal cruelty is a federal offence!!!

2009-01-19 [Artsieladie]: Yeah, his butt is in jail, but what's that in comparison to what he allowed to happen? I have a lot of patience and I will usually try to be understanding, but for something like this, I have no patience, understanding, or anything else for. There IS NO EXCUSE! His bloody lame excuse was that he forgot the dog was outside. To make matters worse, the dog was horribly thin, so I guess he must have forgotten to feed the dog as well? .... and many times? Bloody bastard! *grrrrrrr* <img:stuff/mood8-gif.gif>

2009-01-19 [Alexi Ice]: Yeah! How do you even excuse something like that? Someone should leave his ass out in the cold to freeze to death without anything to eat and see how he likes it! There was a father not far from here who left his CHILDREN outside and they died...It was HORRIBLE. How do you live with yourself after something like that?

2009-01-19 [Artsieladie]: Yes! I believe that there should be in place a law/rule as in "An eye for eye, a tooth for a tooth", because many of these jerks/idiots/morons wouldn't be so inclined to pull the heartless crap they do, if they knew they were going to get the same. :/

2009-01-19 [Alexi Ice]: Yeah but unfortunatly a lot of people don't think about it that way....*sigh* It takes a lot to change the world.

2009-01-20 [Artsieladie]: I know. Instead, all of us law abiding, tax paying citizens have to foot the bill for their room and board, medical and dental care, entertainment, etc., etc., while we, the law abiding, tax paying citizens can't even afford to pay for our own needs! Ludicrous! *grrrr*

2009-01-20 [Alexi Ice]: YEah...hopefully America is headed for some better times.

2009-01-21 [Artsieladie]: I hope so!

2009-01-22 [Nomak]: You know the more you help the less animals get put down?

2009-01-22 [Artsieladie]: I know this. I have helped at the very least, over 500 pets. I have rescued them from abusive and neglectful situations. I have taken pets in that were only going to end up at a shelter. I have taken pets in that were about to be euthanised by a shelter. What we need is for more people to wake up and stop allowing more pets to be continuously and needlessly brought into the world. So many people just do not get it! When they do nothing to put a limit on the procreation, they are contributing to the death of millions of animals that are already here and then contributing to the inevitable doom for the ones they are allowing to be brought into the world, besides. Being a person that has been an active pet rescuer for many years, I know what I'm talking about. If there were MORE concerned people, at some point this scenario might have a chance to be plateaued at least and then hope for avertion, but as long as the majority of the public maintain a cavelier attitude, I do not see this situation getting any better, but increasingly worse.

2009-01-26 [Nomak]: Not with everying that leaves any shelter has to be neuter/spayed by law.

2009-01-27 [Artsieladie]: I'm not sure what you said exactly, but every pet that leaves a shelter nowadays is supposed to be altered. This is good, but what about the millions that do not go through the shelter nor through the shelter's process of adoption?

2009-01-28 [Nomak]: That's why we have animal control officers and laws against excessive breeding.

2009-01-28 [Artsieladie]: Well, the animal control officers are only there to pick up strays and 'supposedly' to help enforce the licensing of dogs. But, in my neck of the woods, there is no set criteria that has to be met to be a control officer and we've had some REAL dusies!

As far as excessive breeding, well, I haven't seen any real control of this yet. There are puppy mills all over the place and the only time something is done about such, is when there are complaints made about the care of the animals involved. Other than this, there are no REAL laws that prohibit useless, needless, unwarranted, excessive breeding.

So many people think that just because they go out and purchase a purebred dog, well! There MUST BE MONEY IN IT! It's a puebred, so let's breed it!!!!! WRONG!!!!!!! Only the very best specimens should be selected to be bred and I don't mean in accordance to AKC standards. I mean healthy and disease resistant wise and temperament wise for 2 very good examples. These are far more important than if the dog stands square or if the dog has a white patch that it shouldn't. Just 2 examples.

Almost every dog that is bought as a purebred by the general public, these dogs are NOT THE BEST SPECIMENS! They are nothing more than PET QUALITY. Any top breeder will NEVER SELL their BEST SPECIMENS to the general public. If they did, a person should expect to pay MANY, MANY, MANY 1000's of dollars for such an animal of SUPERB QUALITY! Anything less and they are purchasing "pet quality" and NOTHING MORE THAN THIS and therefore THEY SHOULD NOT BE BRED!

Sorry, but this is a subject that I know a lot about and I have worked YEARS trying to inform and reduce the ignorance that eminates from the public as a whole in regards to the over population of pets and the continuing practice of people in general that do nothing about this horrible, horrible situation. It's horrible because it's the millions and millions of INNOCENT animals THAT ARE PAYING THE PRICE!

This is nothing against you here. The problem is that there are so few of us individuals that REALLY DO CARE, while there are millions that could care less. ;,(

2009-01-29 [Nomak]: There indifferance is the differance between us and them.

2009-01-29 [Artsieladie]: Yeah, but there's not enough of us that care to really make a dent in the problem, but those of us that care mustn't give up, because we are the only hope for at least some of these innocent animals. :P

2009-01-29 [Nomak]: Not true.

2009-01-31 [Artsieladie]: What is not true?

2009-01-31 [Nomak]: That we are the only hope.

2009-01-31 [Artsieladie]: What is the 'other' hope?

2009-03-24 [Alexi Ice]: What did you change, Hedda?

2009-03-24 [Artsieladie]: He's indexing/categorising the pages. Click "edit" the page and take a look at the top. This is the best way to learn. Just watch how Hedda does everything. This is how I learned almost everything that I have learned. :)

2009-03-24 [Alexi Ice]: I have always wanted to learn how to index ^^ I should try indexing my personal Wiki's sometimes.

2009-03-24 [Artsieladie]: That's the best place to start, I think, with your own. :) I have (guessing) about 800 wiki pages, maybe more, on Elftown, that I work on indexing in between everything else I'm doing. ;P

2009-03-24 [Alexi Ice]: You are an insanly busy lady, aren't you? ^^ Most of my wikis are not related but if I try indexing my own, it won't matter if I mess up. Thats my theory anyway! ^^

2009-03-25 [Artsieladie]: The key word being "insanely", of course! lol Even if you do mess them up and make spaghetti (What kind of sauce do you like on your spaghetti? *giggles*), you can always go back and undo your indexing and re-do it to a better way of your liking. This is why it's better to try it out on a few pages, to get a feel for how it works. Then if you need to go back and un-do, to be able to re-do, it won't involve being as big of an undertaking. ;)

2009-03-25 [Alexi Ice]: I don't like sauce on my spegetti ^^ )

Yep, practice makes perfect ^^

2009-03-25 [Artsieladie]: You don't? Actually, I will always have a plate of spaghetti with butter (has to be butter for I eat no plastic and margarines and other spreads are just one molecule away from being plastic), garlic, onion, pepper, LaChoy soy sauce (has to be LaChoy, low sodium), and freshly ground Parmesan Cheese and sometimes other melted cheese poured over the top. I LOVE cheese!!! After I have my usual first plate of spaghetti like this, then I'll have my second plate with sauce. ...And with freshly baked garlic bread and a chef's tossed salad on the side, complete with anchovies! If I have fresh basil, I will garnish with this, too. Yummy! *licks lips* :D

Yes it doezzz! hehe

2009-03-25 [Alexi Ice]:

UGH! I AM SO HUNGRY RIGHT NOW!!!!!

Yeah I love cheese and garlic bread too but not anchovies, those are icky! and I LOVE oregano! <3 but now I am super hungry.

2009-03-26 [Artsieladie]: Oh, well, you can be sure that there's oregano in the sauce! ...And rosemary, a little sage, sweet basil, parsley, some bay leaves, some cayenne pepper, not too much, though, because people can always add to appeal to their own taste. The tomatoes should be beefy, mealy tomatoes, like the Italian plum tomato and/or the beefsteak tomato. They break down nicely in your sauce, but instead of contributing too much juice, they contribute the mealy tomato pastey consistency and just enough liquid for the sauce. I never add sugar as many do, but instead I add pieces of cut up carrot. The carrot naturally sweetens, reduces the acidity, and should your sauce ever stick to ze bottom of your pot, that can contribute to a scorched taste, the carrot will remove the scorched flavour. Amazing things, those carrots! hehe

You no like anchovies? I love 'em! But... I love fish and I like lemon, too. I can eat a lemon as many would eat an orange. So many people go for beef, but I only get a hankering for beef (steak) a couple times a year, maybe. ...And when I do, I like it rare, rare, rare! But you're not supposed to eat it like this anymore, and maybe this is why I'm not so crazy about eating beef as I used to be. I used to buy a London Broil, and cut chunks off before cooking it, and eat it raw. Cannibal! I love a raw ground round sandwich, with onion and pepper. Yum! I even like liver and liverwurst.

Actually, I like most foods. I am not a finicky eater at all, but I am finicky about what I eat and drink from/with and I like the different foods separated on my plate, not all run in together or mixed in with something else. I never eat or drink from something that someone else has eaten or drank from, either, with one exception only. If someone takes a sip from my cup or glass, that's it, I won't touch it after that. It's theirs! If they stick their eating utensil in my food that they have had in their mouth, eh, I no longer will eat what their utensil touched. ....And this goes right along with kissing, actually. I'm a very stingy kisser! I'll kiss people on the cheek, but the mouth is off limits! My lips are off limits to other lips! lol .....Unless, I'm involved with someone, then I have noooooooo problem. :)
